None.

For German 1 is a beginners’ course. The course will provide the student with a general introduction to the German language; its sound system, pronunciation, functional vocabulary related to everyday life, cultural information related to the German Speaking countries, and basic grammatical rules. Emphasis will be on the acquisition of four skills: listening, speaking, reading and limited writing skills. Students will study the present tense, regular and irregular verbs, articles, pronouns, and adjectives. The course level is at the A1 level according to The Common European Framework of References for Languages.

The main objectives of the course are to give the students the ability to carry out a simple conversation, and provide the student with a basic understanding of the German culture, vocabulary, and grammatical concepts.
