Prerequisites:

Successful completion of the courses German 1 and 2 or equivalent or instructor approval upon completion of a placement test.

In this course, students are expected to further their knowledge gained in the courses German 1 and 2. The course is designed to allow students to use and add to their knowledge acquired in the previous courses, as well as being an introduction to new vocabulary, syntax and fixed expressions. Students will be expected to expand their vocabulary range to include aspects of a wider field of topics. Verb tenses such as the past tense and the past perfect tense, the imperative and current verbs will be introduced and students will be expected to use them correctly in writing and oral expression. The course level is at A2 according to The Common European Framework of References for Languages.

The main objectives of the course are to continue to add to the students’ vocabulary and grammatical proficiency as well as to improve oral fluency so they can express themselves in ordinary circumstances on topics related to their personal life and other familiar topics.
